Part 1 – Working with Process Cloud Service

Part 1 – Understanding Process Cloud Service Workspace and Composer

Workspace URL –

Composer URL –

Where pcsname is Name that you have given while creating PCS Instance

idmdomainname is Name thats default to your cloud service

datacenter can be something like us2 or emea or any other region

In Workspace you get multiple Options they are

  • Develop BPM Process ( Business Process Management Process ) , here you can create new workspace, add process to a workspace, the process itself has sub sections of creating Process Forms, Business Process Canvas, Integration Adapters that allow you to use REST or Integration Cloud Service Connector, Decision Tables and Business indicators are process data objects you use to store the value of the key performance indicators of your process
  • Work on Tasks, This allows you to view or create new task or Act on any of the tasks that have been assigned to you for example , if you are an Approver in Travel Approval Process, you can click on Work on Tasks , view the approval tickets that have been assigned to you , Approve or Reject or Ask for More Information or Escalate based on the business needs
  • Track Instances, This allows you with an Administrator Role to view Tasks that have been completed or error-ed out , if error-ed out there are provisions where you can correct the data and simply Re-Try to move the process into next level

  • Recovering – Error-ed Tasks , there might be time when one of the Servers are Down or there might be data entry mistakes , that might cause for tasks to error , BPM provides beautiful feature to bring those tasks back to life

  • Management – This allows an Administrator to Deploy BPM Processes into various version, undeploy them if required. or get the WSDL SOAP URL if there is a need to expose the process to an external Application
  • Administration – This allows Admin to Configure various Platform Services such Notification Services for Emails , Configure Integration Cloud Service Connections , Business Intelligence Connection, Business Activity Monitoring Connections and Document Cloud Service connections where process documents can be stored
  • Role Management – Every Process has a Swim Lane where a particular user or a group of users belonging to a given role will act up on, this configuration of Roles to Process Swim lane , Users to Roles are all done by user management module

  • Dashboard – Allows Business Process Administrator to view the status of Processes that have succeeded, those that failed which can be recovered, those that are still open without any Action

OnPrem v/s Cloud Versions: In Terms of people familiar with BPM On-premise version to cloud version , the only thing that you need to consider is BPA ( Business Process Architecture ) which would map Business Architecture to Goals to Value chains and those to Business Process are not available within PCS
