FMW Install Startup Scripts

Oracle FMW Install and Startup Scripts

These are linux commands that can be used on Fedora 16 or Oracle Enterprise Linux OS, that runs Database 11gR2. This is not a complete instillation guide but it does help in finding the order of commands to install and start SOA / Webcenter Portal / Webcenter Content

Oracle Enterprise Linux Disable Firewall

If you wish to access the URLs of your VM outside the VM, then with in the VM you need to disable the firewall settings as shown below. if not you will not be able to access URLs such as http://oel62:7001/console outside the virtual machine , if you are using VM to access a server you can keep the Network setting as BRIDGED

[[email protected] soa]$ su
Password:
[[email protected] soa]# service iptables save
iptables: Saving firewall rules to /etc/sysconfig/iptables:[ OK ]
[[email protected] soa]# service iptables stop
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl stop iptables.service
[[email protected] soa]# chkconfig iptables off
Note: Forwarding request to 'systemctl disable iptables.service'.

Handling Out of Memory Exception

If you dont edit setSOADomain.env file you might be bugged down by Out of Memory Exceptions, so here is my settings

pwd

[email protected]:~/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/wc_domain/bin$ gedit setSOADomainEnv.sh

Boot.properties File

boot.properties : Every time weblogic Managed Server such as bam_server1 starts it asks for username and password, create a simple boot.properties file with following lines

username=weblogic
password=welcome1

and place this file in following directory for all corresponding Managed servers , this helps to avoiding password typing during startups.

/home/<>/Oracle/<> /user_projects/domains//servers//security

for example

/home/james/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/wc_domain/servers/UCM_server1/security
